Franklin Pool Service

April into May

Pool opening: spring startup and summerizing

The opening decides how the whole season runs. A pool that starts up clean, balanced, and on a running filter needs less recovery in June and less chemistry in July.

Who it’s for

Best fit

  • Owners of pools that have been closed for the winter with a solid or mesh safety cover.

  • First-year owners who have never opened a pool themselves and want it done right the first time.

  • Owners whose previous service closed the pool badly and left them a green surprise in April.

What’s included

On every visit

Everything below is standard, not upsell. Anything outside this scope is quoted before it happens.

  1. 01

    Cover removal

Cover pulled, drained where needed, cleaned, and folded for storage.

  2. 02

    Water top-off and pump prime

Level restored, plugs pulled, skimmer and return lines cleared, pump primed and started.

  3. 03

    Equipment reconnection

Filter, heater, salt cell, pool light, and any automation reconnected and tested through a full cycle.

  4. 04

    Startup chemistry

Shock, stabilizer, and pH corrections calibrated to your fill water, not a boilerplate dose.

  5. 05

    Filter run

Filter runs through the opening window; the follow-up backwash and rebalance is scheduled at the same visit or the next, depending on how the water responds.

Good to know

  • Opening is best booked before April to hold a slot in the first two weeks of May.
  • If the water is already green at the cover pull, green-pool recovery is quoted separately rather than absorbing the extra chemistry into the opening.
