Privacy Policy

Effective [TODO: effective date]. This policy covers the Franklin Pool Service website at www.franklinpoolservices.com.

Who this policy is from

Franklin Pool Service sells, installs, and services swimming pools across the New York metro area, and operates this website. This policy explains what the site collects when you use it, why it is collected, and who else is involved. It covers this website only.

What the site collects

Only what you type into one of its forms. There are no accounts, no logins, and no mailing list, so there is nothing to sign up for.

The estimate request form, which appears on the contact page and on the service and pool pages, asks for your full name, email address, phone number, ZIP code, how you would rather be contacted, and a short description of what you need. You can also add your town or neighborhood, a rough timeframe, the pool you are considering, and the services you are interested in.

The pool planning wizard on the pools page asks for the same contact details, along with your answers to its questions about the pool and the yard, the recommendation it produces from those answers, and an optional note if you want to add one.

When you submit either form, the site briefly processes the network address the request came from, in memory, so that spam and duplicate submissions can be turned away. It is not written to disk, it is not stored, and it is discarded automatically.

The site does not use cookies for tracking, does not run analytics, and does not use advertising or social media pixels. Nothing on it follows you to another website.

Why it is collected

To respond to your request about pool service, installation, or repair, and to prepare an estimate. That is the whole of it. We do not use what you send to market to you, do not add you to a list, and do not send promotional emails or text messages.

What happens when you submit a form

Every submission is recorded in the server logs of the company that hosts the site.

A submission from the estimate request form may also send a short text alert to our own mobile phone, carrying your name, your phone number, the service or pool you selected, and your town, so that a person sees the request rather than an inbox. The free text you write is not included in that alert. The pool planning wizard does not send that alert.

Who it is shared with

Nobody, apart from the two service providers the site needs in order to work at all.

  • Vercel hosts the website and keeps the server logs described above.
  • Twilio delivers the text alert to our phone.

There is no customer database, no marketing platform, and no lead service. We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information, and we do not pass it to advertisers or data brokers.

How long it is kept

There is no database. A submission stays in the hosting provider’s server logs for their standard retention period, which they set and we do not control. A text alert, once sent, stays on our phone like any other message. Beyond that, what you send is kept only as long as it is needed to answer your enquiry and to carry out any work that follows from it.

Asking what we hold, and asking us to delete it

Write to [TODO: contact email address] and say what you are asking for. Include the name, phone number, or email address you used, so the request can be matched to a submission. We can delete what we hold. The hosting provider’s server logs expire on their own schedule and cannot be edited by hand.

Children

This site is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated. When it is, the effective date at the top of this page changes.
